NEW CREATIVE PROJECTS AND FINALLY FINISHING OFF THE OTHERS

With the lazy summer days behind us and the school year and dance having finally gone back, the calendar is already full of significant birthdays and other events.

Life in the studio is also in full swing. Back full-time, I am working behind the scenes on my new website, two year-long painting projects, finishing the oracles, and deciding once and for all about my book/ course/ programme DYCS, which has been on my to-do list for more than five years.

My website is the bane of my working life, and I swing between burning it down and trying to overhaul it. Currently, I am leaning toward overhauling it, as I know how much work it is to start from the beginning… but a blank slate is very enticing!

I have started the research phase of my two projects. I don’t always do research and planning for my painting series, often waiting for the muse to flow through me, but both of these projects dropped in. I don’t want to share too much just yet as I am in the planning phase, but one will be a series of six paintings and the other a series of four.

Rest assured that when I do start sharing them both, Community members will be told first!

The Oracles are in the first round of edits!! I have finally finished the first draft of the writing part, which was so much more difficult than the painting part (hello, past school traumas raising their ugly heads!)

There are still a few stages of edits and design to work through, but I have a tentative launch date (which also feels far too soon) in June.

And finally, this year, once and for all, I am deciding what to do with my class/ course/ book Discover Your Creative Squeak. I actually have a full book written sitting on my hard drive, but I keep dithering about how it would best presented. Would a 10-week course be good, a series of emails or live Zoom calls, a workbook and a book combo?

I have been dithering over this since 2020, and it is time for it to be shared with the world, and it is definitely time for me to make a decision and stick to it. (BUT if you have any thoughts, please hit reply and email me!)

With all this, and the inevitable side quests, it is certainly going to be a creative year in the studio, which, to be honest, is exciting after last year’s creative drought!
