The longer I continue this art journalling practice, the more grateful I am that I started it.
What began as a simple creative experiment has become a grounding ritual that helps me begin each studio day with curiosity instead of pressure.
Over time, the practice has evolved.
Some days it’s a quick fifteen-minute play session. Other days I find myself completely immersed for an hour, adding layers, details and stories to the page.
What remains the same is how it makes me feel.
AUGUST

Art journalling gives my busy mind somewhere to rest.
It quiets the endless list of things I should be doing and brings me back to the simple joy of making art.
I’ve noticed that many of my best ideas begin here too.
A colour combination, a character, a phrase or a tiny painted detail often finds its way into larger paintings later on.
It’s a reminder that creativity doesn’t always arrive when we’re chasing it.
Sometimes it appears when we’re simply playing.
SEPTEMBER

Today I’m sharing another collection of recent journal pages that have brought me joy, challenged me creatively or sparked new ideas for future work.
I hope you enjoy this little peek behind the scenes.
And if you’ve been thinking about starting a creative practice of your own, consider this your sign to begin. No rules. No expectations. Just a little space to create for the sake of creating.
You can find more pages from my art journal on Instagram and Facebook, where I share them as they unfold.
From my whimsy world to yours.
