WARRIOR BENEATH is a painting dear to my heart as everyone who knows our eldest daughter Bean tells me it is her.

I named her Warrior Beneath, as beneath the layer of paint you can see faint warrior marks and lines beneath her ‘skin’

But since family and friends think this is a painting of Bean, the title Warrior Beneath is so much more appropriate as she has waged a battles against bullies, against those who are intolerant and not inclusive, and against the rules society tells her she as a young woman must abide by. She is a warrior.
